Terms of service
Last updated 1 November 2026
Open Albums (openalbums.com) is run by Openthing Inc. ("we", "us"). These terms apply to everyone who uses it: photographers who make albums, and the people who open them and order prints. By using Open Albums you agree to them, and to our Privacy policy.
What Open Albums is
Photographers upload their photos, and Open Albums lays them out as an album they can share with a link. People who open an album can turn its pages, react to its photos and order prints and magnets of them, which we print and deliver in Israel. Making and sharing albums is free.
Your account
- You sign in with your email address and a one-time code we send to it. Anyone who can read that email can sign in as you, so keep it to yourself.
- You need to be 18 or older to make an account or place an order.
- You can delete your account in Account. Everything in it, albums and photos included, is deleted 7 days later, and until then its albums don’t open for anyone. Changed your mind? Sign in before then.
Albums
- An album stays open for 90 days from the day it’s made. We email you 7 days and 1 day before it closes. Once it has, its photos are deleted.
- You can have up to 10 albums open at a time.
- A public album opens for anyone with its link. A private one also asks for its 6-digit code. Either way, its title and cover show to anyone with the link, including in the preview apps like WhatsApp show for it.
- Links and codes can be passed on, so share them only with people you trust with the photos.
Your photos
- Your photos stay yours. You let us store them, make the copies the album needs (with the film looks and crops you choose), show them to the people who open your album, and print them for the orders placed from it. That permission ends when the photos are deleted, except for orders already paid.
- Upload only photos you have the right to share, and that the people in them would be comfortable sharing this way. Don’t upload anything illegal, any sexual content involving a minor, or anything meant to harass, threaten or shame someone.
- We may take down an album or close an account that breaks these rules, or when the law requires it.
- Open Albums isn’t a backup. Keep your own copies of your photos.
Ordering prints and magnets
- Prices are in shekels and include VAT. The total, the delivery cost and how long delivery takes are shown before you pay. We deliver in Israel only.
- You pay on the secure page of our payment provider, Grow (formerly Meshulam). The order is placed once Grow confirms the payment to us, and we email you when it’s paid and when it’s on its way.
- Your order is with us, not with the photographer whose album you ordered from.
- Prints and magnets are made to order, from the photos and crops you choose. Colours on paper can look a little different from your screen.
- You can cancel an order, for a full refund, until we start making it: write to us at nani@openalbums.com. After that it can’t be cancelled, since it’s made just for you.
- If anything arrives damaged or faulty, or isn’t what you ordered, write to us within 14 days of delivery with a photo of it, and we’ll reprint it or refund you.
Open Albums itself
- We work to keep Open Albums running well, but we provide it as it is, and can’t promise it will always be available or free of mistakes.
- We may change or remove features. If we ever close Open Albums, we’ll email account holders at least 30 days before.
- As far as the law allows, we aren’t responsible for indirect losses, or for lost photos you didn’t keep copies of, and our total responsibility for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it. None of this limits your rights under consumer protection law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. For changes that matter, we’ll email account holders before they take effect, and using Open Albums after that means you accept them.
